SIMPLE PAST TENSE

Nah yukk, today we will learn about simple past tense.

"What is simple past tense kak.?" 

The simple past tense is used to talk about finished actions that happened at a specific time in 

the past. You state when it happened using a time adverb.

→ The Form of Simple Past Tense

•  Untuk kalimat Verba (Kalimat yang predikatnya adalah kata kerja/Verb)

          ( + ) S + V2 + O/C

          ( - ) S  + did + not + V1 + O/C

        

          ( ? ) Did + S + V1 + O/C + ?

• Example :

                        ( + ) He went to Surabaya yesterday
                        
                        ( - ) He did not go to Surabaya yesterday

                        ( ? ) Did he go to Surabaya yesterday ?

• Untuk kalimat nominal ( kalimat yang predikatnya selain kata kerja )

         ( + ) S + to be (was/were) + non verb +.......

         ( - ) S + to be (was/were) + not + non verb +.........

         ( ? ) Was/were + S + non verb +....... ?

• NOTE.!

              I, She, He, It       → Was

         You, They, we     → Were

• Example :

                        ( + )  He was a doctor
                        
                        ( - ) He was not a doctor

                        ( ? ) Was he a doctor ?

•    NOTE.!

Time Signal of Simple Past Tense :

• Yesterday
• the day before yesterday
• just now
• last night
• this morning 
• last.....
• ........... ago
